CSV Column Stats

Profile every column of CSV, TSV or PSV data — counts, uniqueness, inferred type and numeric min/max/mean — locally in your browser.

Profiled 3 column(s) across 3 row(s).

How it works

  • Parsed the delimited text per RFC 4180.
  • Counted non-empty, empty and unique values in every column.
  • Inferred a conservative type and computed min/max/mean only for numeric columns.
  • An all-empty column is labelled empty; no value is invented.

Methodology

  1. Parse per RFC 4180 and treat each column independently.
  2. Count total, non-empty, empty and unique values; uniqueness uses the exact trimmed cell text.
  3. Infer integer/number/boolean/date/text only when every non-empty cell matches; compute min/max/mean only for numeric columns.

Usage

  1. Paste delimited text or choose a local file.
  2. Set the delimiter (or auto-detect) and whether the first row is a header.
  3. Read each column's counts, inferred type and numeric summary.

Examples

These are examples, not current values: they use fixed inputs, while the interactive tool computes live results in your browser.

}

Limitations

Conservative typing

A column is typed integer, number, boolean or date only when every non-empty cell matches that shape. Any mismatch falls back to text, so a surprising type is never claimed.

Frequently asked questions

Are the statistics exact?
Yes — counts, uniqueness and numeric summaries are computed from the parsed cells; no value is estimated.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Profiling runs locally in your browser.
