Privacy
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input is never uploaded, stored, or sent to a third party.
Previewed the result with 1 finding(s); the title renders at about 400px desktop.
How it works
- Read the title, URL and description.
- Measured the approximate display width of the title and description (wide characters count double).
- Rendered the desktop and mobile snippet, truncating against the approximate display budgets.
- Reported presence and width findings without predicting ranking.
- Display widths are approximations, not a fixed Google character limit.
- The preview models the displayed result only; it is not a ranking simulation.
Methodology
- Count each input by Unicode code point, treating CJK, fullwidth and emoji as double-width.
- Multiply the width by an approximate per-character pixel value to estimate the rendered length.
- Truncate against the documented approximate desktop and mobile display budgets and report findings.
Usage
- Enter the page title.
- Enter the absolute page URL.
- Enter the meta description.
- Run the preview and read the desktop and mobile snippets plus the findings.
Examples
These are examples, not current values: they use fixed inputs, while the interactive tool computes live results in your browser.

"description": "Preview the approximate Google desktop and mobile search result for a page title, URL and meta description, with display-width findings."
}An over-long title
{
"title": "SERP Preview — the complete and exhaustive guide to every possible search result appearance and every snippet variation you could ever need",
"url": "https://gampangin.example/tools/serp-preview/",
"description": "A short description."
}Limitations
What the preview can and cannot tell you
The preview shows how the title, URL and description are likely to be laid out, and flags values that run past the approximate display width. It is a formatting aid.
Google chooses the final title link and snippet and may rewrite either from the page content, so treat the output as a guide rather than a guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the character limit a real Google rule?
- No. Google documents approximate pixel widths and may truncate or rewrite a snippet; the counts here are guidance, not a limit that guarantees or prevents truncation.
- Is my page URL fetched?
- No. The preview is composed from the text you type; no request is made.
